About

Welcome to kopyrinaArt.

I'm Iryna Kopyrina, an artist from Dnipro, Ukraine. For many years I worked as an interior designer, shaping spaces for other people — but the human form, drawn in charcoal and oil, was always the thing I came back to on my own time. Eventually I stopped treating it as a side pursuit and made it my work. Since 2019, more than 440 of my pieces have found homes in the United States, Canada, Australia and across Europe.

Each piece starts loose and instinctive — gesture before detail, emotion before precision. I'm drawn to the quiet intimacy between two people: an embrace, a moment of closeness, the weight of bodies leaning into each other. Charcoal lets me work in contrast and shadow; oil lets me slow down and build depth. Both, to me, are ways of capturing something honest.

Art has also been a place of steadiness for me during a difficult time for Ukraine — a way to keep creating when so much else feels uncertain.

Everything here is made by hand, one at a time. Pieces marked one of a kind are painted once and never repeated. Some compositions I do paint again when someone asks — those are marked hand-painted to order, and each one comes out a little different from the photograph, because a hand is not a printer. To me that difference is the whole point of living with a painting instead of a print.

I care about the work reaching you well — from the first sketch to the moment it's on your wall. Thank you for supporting independent art. I hope my work brings a little more warmth into your space.

Warmly,
Iryna Kopyrina
